Building Information

  • 141,750 square feet

  • 3 floors (2 above grade, 1 basement level)

  • Lab, Offices, Classrooms, and Study Areas

  • 44 Million Dollars

  • Design-Bid-Build Construction Method

  • September 1, 2017 — April 1, 2019

Architecture

  • Will connect to an existing and currently renovating building next door

  • Open 2 story atrium at the North entrance

  • Curtainwall and brick façade to blend in with surrounding architecture

Lighting / Electrical

  • Powered by utility transformer in the yard to a 3000 amp main distribution on panel

  • Lighting is made up of all 277V dimming or electronic driver fixture by all LED lighting emergency generator in the basement

Mechanical

  • Building is serviced by three Air Handling Units, all paired with Energy Recovery Units

  • Each zone consists of a VAV box that modulates air to designated spaces

  • Dedicated exhaust for wind tunnel and gas turbine in the basement

Structural

  • Lateral system is a combination of moment and braced frames

  • Most of the building is made of structural concrete except for the roof trusses

  • Foundation is made up of spread footings
