Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of William Manning. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

Electrical Breadth
With the type of equipment being used in the central combined heat and power plant in the adjacent building, the types of electrical systems used in the building will have to be changed. Because the electricity is not coming from the grid off campus, the wiring will need to be changed to accommodate the different flow to the building. In addition to the wiring transitions, there will be a need to size and change the transformer sizes to make sure the building is getting the correct amount of power to keep the building up and running.
Acoustical Breadth
Due to the addition of the dedicated outdoor air units with a variable refrigerant flow conditioning, the amount of noise produced from the mechanical room and roof will be analyzed. In order to understand the impact of the additional noise and vibration that is generated, the acoustical properties of any major mechanical equipment within the building will be analyzed. If it is found that the existing acoustical properties are not sufficient per occupancy type, different techniques to mitigate sound will be considered including floor dampers, wall materials, and building construction types.
